Kontinitro AG, a privately-owned company founded in 1936, is specialized in high-precision measuring device for the explosive industry. During the last decades, we have supplied customers operating in sectors ranging from mining to the space industry in more than 50 countries. Velocity Of Detonation (VOD) is one important characteristic of explosives. The VOD has to be measured at different stages, from the manufactures to the end user. The EXPLOMET-FO-2000™, a reliable Swiss Made instrument, allows easy and precise measuring of the VOD. It features five electronic counters, triggered by the light of the explosion, which can measure VOD up to 10’000 meter/second. Commonly measured VOD include: · Industrial and military explosives · propellants and pyrotechnic mixtures · detonation cord · slow-burning pyrotechnic composition · Shock Tube. Other possible applications include: · Controlling the delay of non-electric detonators (shock tube detonators) · when used with the DETOMET™ instrument it is possible to measure the delay of electric detonators · testing a blast using the shock tube initiation system. The Explomet comes in a rugged transport case, and, with 6 hours autonomy on batteries, is perfectly suited for on field operation. Alternatively the device can be used in a laboratory and linked by a permanent optical line to remote test sites as far as 200m. Over the years, high performance and reliability has earned the EXPLOMET-FO-2000™ a good reputation among users looking for a simple and robust device. With its headquarters in Lichtenstein and a Technical Office and Logistic Branch based in Geneva- Switzerland, Kontinitro has an efficient commercial structure for worldwide business. |
